When the tribes on the west heard the news that the Israelites had built an altar on the east side, they prepared for a great war. However, this misunderstanding did not reflect their true intentions at all.
4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
Today's sermon addresses the issue of misunderstanding and conflict under the theme "That is not what it means." We often misunderstand each other's words and actions, leading to conflicts. Through the incident where the people of Israel were divided into the east and west, almost resulting in war due to a great misunderstanding, we learn that we must become a community of reconciliation, not giving up on each other, and resolving conflicts through understanding and communication while looking to God. In God, we can become one and form a community that understands and loves one another.

What is the title of the sermon?
The title of the sermon is 'That is not what it means.', emphasizing the importance of understanding and communication.
Today's sermon title is "It Doesn't Mean That." We often find ourselves saying this in life. What I said at that time did not mean that. The action I took at that moment did not have that meaning. There are times when someone misunderstands my words and actions, interpreting them differently than I intended. Thus, we often say "It doesn't mean that." This can happen in personal matters, but it seems to occur in national issues as well.
For example, in August 2022, there was a webtoon artist signing event at a café in Seoul, but there was a reservation error. The organizers posted a public apology on their website. The key part was this: "We sincerely apologize." However, many netizens reacted to this post. Most of the comments were like this: "Not sincere at all." There were many comments like, "Sincere apology, haha." If it were sincere, it would be a sincere apology. Shouldn't someone who has thoughts about announcements be the one to post? "A is different from B." Which company gives a "sincere apology" in an apology letter? The rest of those comments were unbearable to read. "It doesn't mean that."
In 2020, something similar happened. On August 17, a temporary public holiday was set, extending the holiday to three days. An article was published stating, "The three-day holiday was expressed as four days." Many netizens commented, "Isn't it five days? Why is it called four days when it's three? It shouldn't be confusing." I even met someone who said that Jesus resurrected on the fourth day. Their basis was this: "1 Corinthians 15:4. He was buried, and on the third day, He rose again according to the Scriptures." So they believed He resurrected on the fourth day. But that doesn't mean that. It refers to three days. The fourth day is called four days.
